Food in Norway is expencive compared to EU

Milk and meat is far more expensive in Norway compared to other EU countries.

This makes the norwegian food industry more and more dependent of import protection.
Products like milk and meat have increased 80% since 1994. Milk powder have more than doubled, and cheese have increased 61% according to numbers from NIBIO (Norwegian Institute for bio-economy) as the newspaper Nationen renders.

Norwegian commodity prices is increasing, while the prices in the EU stays the same as before, or increases slightly. Products like milk and meat have a steady increase in prices over time.
