After a sharp decline in consumption when the corona pandemic came to Norway, there has now been a record growth in the use of payment cards compared to June 2019.

The significant growth has taken place in total card sales, which was NOK 68.9 billion, this is 10.6 percent higher than in June 2019, Nets states in a press release.

In June, 187.7 million payment card transactions were completed in Norway – 1 percent more than in the same month last year. The modest growth in the number of transactions means that we buy more expensive goods, according to Per Harald Strøm, head of data and analysis at Nets.
