Wind power production is increasing, but hydropower still dominates completely and accounted for 93.4 percent of total Norwegian power production last year.

Last year, wind power accounted for 4.1 percent of Norwegian power generation, according to Statistics Norway (Statistics Norway).

A total of 5.5 terawatt-hours (TWh) of wind power was produced in Norway last year. This corresponds to the annual consumption of 350,000 households.

The previous year, wind power generation was 3.6 TWh. In comparison, Norwegian hydropower produced 125.8 terawatt-hours in 2019.

Total power generation last year ended at 134.5 TWh. This is a decrease of 12.2 TWh from the previous year. According to Statistics Norway, the decline can be explained by less inflow to Norwegian water reservoirs in 2019.
