Record number of seasonal workers in the first half of the year

The immigration of seasonal workers to Norway is at a record high in 2019. So far this year, 2,773 people have come.

This means that 357 more seasonal workers have arrived than in the first half of last year. Then came 2,416 seasonal workers, according to the Directorate of Immigration (UDI).

Most seasonal workers come from Vietnam then Ukraine follows the spot.

At the same time, labor immigration to Norway continues to increase. Immigration of skilled workers from countries outside of the EU and the EEA has increased, and a total of 2,187 immigrants have arrived in the first half of the year. That’s 573 more than the same period last year. According to the UDI, the largest group is from India.

The figure exceeds the peak years 2012 and 2014, according to UDI. Then there were 1,967 and 1,928 skilled workers from countries outside Europe, respectively.
