Norway trades with Israel have never been so high before. So far this year, has the trade value passed one billion NOK.

The Palestine Committee`s boycott list may thus have become Israeli friends’ shopping list, reported the Christian newspaper, Dagen.
– Norwegian trade with Israel is not large but has been a significantly increased, said economy professor Ola H. Grytten to the newspaper.

Figures from Statistics Norway are showing that imports until 1st of June were NOK 555 million which represents an increase of 28.5 percent compared to the record year last year. Only during April import rates recorded over 200 million NOK.

Meanwhile, exports of Norwegian goods to Israel increased by 22 percent to NOK 471 million so far this year.

The professor at the business school in Bergen believes trade is natural.
– Trade with Israel is growing because both countries have good products that the others want which overshadows both boycotts and campaigns, said Ola H. Grytten.
Palestine Committee is not that happy about this development.

– This is very disappointing because it rewards a country that violates human rights. Instead of this Israel should have changed their policies towards the Palestinians, said leader Kathrine Jensen to newspaper Dagen.
