The national midnight limit for serving alcohol might be replaced by a registration system if the infection pressure allows it, the government announced on Thursday.

At Thursday’s press conference, the government presented a number of reopening measures that can be introduced if the infection pressure is low.

– The government will consider whether the national midnight end of alcohol service should be replaced by clear recommendations that the municipalities themselves must assess this measure based on the local infection situation, the government warns.

The Norwegian Directorate of Health and the National Institute of Public Health will then consider whether registration of guests can replace the midnight end of alcohol service.
