Since February, prices in housing leases have fallen on average 3.5 per cent, and the corona situation presents challenges for many, according to Husleie.no.

The comparison is between the February figures and the time after the stringent corona measures were implemented on March 12.

“Many tenants are laid off and experience financial challenges. We are experiencing a sharp increase in the number of new contracts, but rental prices are falling after the corona crisis,” says general manager Kjetil J. Olsen at Husleie.no.

The figures include contracts for detached houses, townhouses, semi-detached houses and apartments throughout the country, while bedsits and shared housing have been excluded.
