The industrial group Aker and Kjell Inge Røkke donate NOK 100 million to three different maritime initiatives.

Røkke accounts for about half of the donation, while the Aker companies Aker BP, Aker Energy, Aker Solutions, Kvaerner, Aker BioMarine and Cognite are all in the splice team of the other half.

In total, they provide $11 million, which will cover the costs of the projects over the next three years, E24 writes.

Half of the total donation goes to the marine technology center C4IR Norway, the center of the fourth industrial revolution, which Aker launched with the World Economic Forum on Tuesday.

The aim of the center is to gather and strengthen the forces of those who have their business connected to the sea and to those who develop technology and solutions for a sustainable marine economy.
