An error by the Tax Administration may have led to around 400 people having their pensions reduced.

The error was discovered after the Civil Ombudsman investigated a complaint from a person who had had his pension cut.

The Ombudsman revealed that the Tax Administration’s decision was made after the decision’s deadline had expired.

It is now feared that around 400 people in total may be affected by the error.

“We apologize for this procedural error, and we’re now fixing the issue,” section manager Lene Ringså in the legal department in the Tax Administration told Rett24.

The tax authorities have been reviewing cases dating back to 1993 and will contact affected persons.
