Slight decrease in absenteeism

The number of employees with sickness absence has declined slightly from 5.9 percent in Q2 last year to 5.8 in the same quarter this year, according to figures from Statistics Norway.

Sickness absence declined in most counties. Aust-Agder and Nord-Trøndelag had the largest decrease in absenteeism percentage with respectively 6.3 and 5.5 percent. While Rogaland, Oppland and Hedmark had an increase, according to Statistics Norway.

The largest decline was among workers aged 20- 24 and 25- 29, respectively 6.0 and 4.2 percent.

Absenteeism of women has decreased from 7.7 to 7.6 percent, while for men it has remained virtually unchanged at 4.1 percent.
