SSB: 937 Norwegian companies entered bankruptcy proceedings in Q2 of 2021

A total of 937 bankruptcies were initiated during the second quarter of the year, compared with 839 in the first quarter, according to Statistics Norway (SSB). That is an increase of close to 12%. 

While 704 companies initiated bankruptcy in the first quarter, the number rose to 727 in the period between April 1 and June 30, the figures from the SSB show.

The numbers are still lower than the last two quarters at the end of last year.

In the second quarter, 210 personal bankruptcies were initiated, including those of sole proprietorships, an increase from 135 in the first quarter.
