A total of 73,000 immigrants with higher education worked in occupations with lower education requirements in 2021. The proportion of overqualified immigrants was 40% in 2021.

In 2015, this proportion was 42%, and there has been little change in the last six years, according to Statistics Norway (SSB).

For the general population, the proportion has been around 14% throughout this period.

A larger proportion of working immigrants are overqualified for their job than the general population with higher education.

In the 2015–2021 period, 16,000 more overqualified immigrants have been registered in the workforce. This increase is due to an increase in the number of employees among immigrants with higher education in the same period.

Well – good for them. They have a good work ethic unlike some who think they are above getting their hands dirty. If you don’t want to work then you don’t get to eat as far as I am concerned.
