In November, there were 1.7 million overnight stays at Norwegian hotels, a twofold increase compared to the same month last year.

New figures from Statistics Norway (SSB) show that the number of overnight stays at commercial accommodation providers exceeded 2 million in November. That is 1.1 million more than in November 2020.

The figures show that both Norwegian and foreign overnight stays more than doubled.

Hotels and similar accommodation providers accounted for 1.7 million of the overnight stays. That is more than twice as many as the same month last year. Unfortunately, the trend is unlikely to continue as the authorities introduced strict corona measures in December to prevent the spread of the coronavirus.

“November was a month with few restrictions in connection with the corona pandemic,” senior adviser Jarle Kvile in Statistics Norway stated.
