SSB: The number of IT employees in Norway increased by 21.1% from 2015 to 2020

While the total number of employees increased by 4% from 2015 to 2020, the increase in IT occupations was as much as 21.1%, according to Statistics Norway (SSB).

According to figures from the SSB, a large part of the increase has taken place within the occupational group of software and app developers/analysts.

People with IT occupations accounted for only 3.2% of employees at the end of 2020, but this group accounted for 14.5% of the total increase in the number of employees from the fourth quarter of 2015 to the same period last year.

Furthermore, there has been an increase in financing and insurance activities and health and social services in Norway, with a rise of 78.5% and 134.6%, respectively, from 2015 to 2020.
