In July, the unemployed accounted for 4.2% of the labor force in Norway. This is a decrease of 17,000 people, or 0.6%, from April.

The Labor Force Survey (LFS) from Statistics Norway (SSB) shows that there were 121,000 unemployed people in July. That is 17,000 fewer than in April.

The proportion of employed people in the population amounted to 68.8% in July. In April, it amounted to 67.4%.

In November 2018, the NAV introduced a new solution for registering job seekers, due to which they can enter NAV’s register and statistics more quickly.

Statistics Norway seasonally adjusts the figures from the NAV according to the same method as before.
