Projections for 2020 indicate a total investment growth of 4.2 per cent in oil and gas, industry, mining and power supply.

Investments in oil and gas will be the driver of the increase, according to figures from Statistics Norway.

The industry, for its part, expects a clear decline in investment in 2020, thus curbing overall investment growth.

Total investments in oil and gas, industry, mining and power supply in 2019 were as much as 15 per cent higher than in 2018.

Figures for 2019 show that total investments in oil and gas, industry, mining and power supply amounted to NOK 249.7 billion.

The sharp rise can largely be attributed to increased investments in the oil and gas sector in particular, but a very high level of investment in industry also contributed positively.
