Statnett plans to cut the grid rent for Norwegian electricity users and industry by NOK 4 billion in 2022 due to unusually high revenues.

“Even though we have had high prices in Norway recently, trade with other countries has yielded large revenues from both imports and exports of power.

“Norwegian consumers will benefit by almost NOK 4 billion in relief when we now set the consumption tariff to zero from April 1,” CEO Hilde Tonne in Statnett noted.

The tariff that makes up Statnett’s share of the grid rent for 2022 was set on October 1.

However, revenues have been higher than expected. The forecasts for 2022 show revenues of at least NOK 7 billion.
