Petter Stordalens from hotel chain Nordic Choice and partners invest around eight billion NOK around Jernbanetorget, Oslo S and in three years will have 2,068 rooms in eight hotels at this area.

– The things are happening in this area with everything from Deichmanske, Barcode, Lambda, Opera, Bjørvika development and other major development plans, says Stordalen to Dagens Næringsliv.

The investment comes with the expansion of the Royal Christiania, new Clarion Bjørvika which opens in 2019, and the new hotel in the former headquarters of the Norwegian America Line (NAL) at Jernbanetorget, which opens in May 2018. According to Stordalen Oslo is missing 1600 hotel rooms.

– The goal is a market share of almost 35 percent. Now we have 22 percent, so there is still a way to go, he said.
