The Tax Administration warns of an email asking for confirmation of identification. This is a scam, according to the agency.
In the email it reads “identification process” in the subject field, and the Tax Administration logo is used. The receiver is asked to scan and send an identification document such as a passport or credit card, with photo, signature, date of birth.
The Tax Administration says on its website that this is a scam and that they will never request such sensitive information via email.
– All our electronic communication with taxpayers involving sensitive personal information happens by logging on to Altinn. We do not send links in email notifications, added the tax administration.
