Telenor withdraws billion dividend from subsidiary in Bangladesh

On Tuesday morning, the quarterly report from Telenor’s subsidiary in Bangladesh, Grameenphone, was presented. Telenor receives more than NOK 1 billion in dividends.

The quarterly report shows that the company can record operating revenues equivalent to NOK 3.9 billion in the fourth quarter, E24 writes.

This is an increase of 4.2 per cent from the same period last year.

At the same time, the board of directors proposes a dividend equivalent to NOK 1.40 per share. Thus, Telenor receives a dividend of NOK 1.05 billion.

Grameenphone can show a 745,000 subscription growth from the third to the fourth quarter. In total, the company now has 76.46 million subscribers, an increase of 3.7 million from the same time last year.

Grameenphone is the largest telecommunications company in Bangladesh, and Telenor owns 55.8 per cent.
