After a decline in passengers last year The Airport Express Train hopes to win back customers by offering them bonus points with SAS.
From mid-March, anyone who buys a ticket on the Airport Express Train by phone can earn points on SAS ‘bonus program EuroBonus, the newspaper Aftenposten writes. In this way The Airport Express Train will attempt to get new passengers – and get back the passengers they lost to NSB in 2015.
– The bonus points will be a reward to our travelers, and this is one of our many measures to increase our competitiveness and help bringing back passengers we’ve lost to the NSB. We are keen to differentiate our offer from the other players, The Airport Express Train`s Director Linda Silseth says.
Last year the Airport Express Train lost 200,000 passengers compared to the peak year of 2014. The passenger decrease was about 3 percent, and many of the customers went to NSB instead.
CEO in NSB, Tom Ingulstad, said that their goal is not to compete directly with the Airport Express Train.
– NSB goal is always to make the offer as attractive as possible for our passengers. We are constantly looking for ways to improve our services, and in 2014 we increased the number of departures per hour past Gardermoen, he says to Aftenposten.
