Gaming operators, operating without a license in Norway are behind some 30 different gambling games available in Apple’s Norwegian App store, E24 reports.

In a letter to Apple sent last week, the Lottery Authority states that it has identified several apps that are available in Norway and that offer gambling, although the operators do not have the necessary licenses to provide such.

Advisor Rannveig Gram Skår at the Lottery Authority confirms the contents of the letter to E24 and says the letter is a call to Apple to investigate whether the apps are in compliance with their guidelines.

– “We interpret Apple’s guidelines as to the app should not be available in areas where the operators do not have the necessary licenses,” says Skår.

The letter to Apple contains a list of more than 30 named apps.

The Lottery Authority has also previously sent a similar request to Apple. The result was that the apps were made inaccessible in Norway.
