The nightlife industry has been hit hard by the Coronavirus crisis. The industry accounts for 25 percent of the affected employees and 15 percent of bankruptcies since March.

Figures show from the Brønnøysund registers and the industry organization Virke, writes Aftenposten.

Half of the nightclubs state that they are still struggling with profitability.

– “The culture and nightlife industry struggles with profitability when it is not allowed to gather more than 200 people and you have to keep a meter distance,” says CEO Ivar Horneland Kristensen in Virke.

Virke’s figures show that the restaurant and catering industry has had a drop in turnover of 37.2 percent so far this year.
