The Norwegian krone is at its strongest since August 2019. When the krone strengthens, that means that Norwegians pay a little less when they buy goods from abroad.

The Norwegian krone has strengthened against the euro recently. It is now at its strongest since August 1, 2019, according to Norges Bank’s index I44, newspaper E24 writes.

Norges Bank states daily exchange rates for index I44, an exchange rate index calculated based on the krone exchange rate against the currencies of Norway’s most important trading partners. It is used as a basis when setting the interest rate.

On Monday, index I44 was at 107.47 points, which means that the krone exchange rate is at its strongest against the trading partners’ currencies since August 1 last year, the newspaper writes.
