The Norwegian Public Roads Administration extends expired driving license for professional drivers. They now have an extra six months to renew after the expiry date due to the coronavirus crisis.
The measure is introduced because, due to the coronavirus situation, it is now difficult to obtain a health certificate, which is necessary to extend the driver’s license for both bus and truck, among other things.
“This applies only to Norway and only those who have not had restrictions due to health challenges previously,” says Department Director Henning Harsem of the Road Administration, the Division of Road Traffic and Vehicles on the Norwegian Public Roads Administration.
Driver’s license holders over the age of 80 are given the right to drive for an additional three months after expiry date.
