The ban on events with more than 500 participants means that the ONS oil fair, held in Stavanger every other year, is cancelled for 2020.

The fair was supposed to be held between 31st of August and the 3rd of September, but it is now cancelled, writes E24.

The four-day oil fair brings together about 70,000 people from over 100 countries. The fair is also a showcase for over 1,200 companies.

– “This is the first time in the 46 year history of the fair that we are forced to cancel. ONS is important to many, but health and safety must come first,” says ONS Leif Johan Sevland, head of the statement.

“ONS is now trying to make parts of the program digital,” he says.
