Tine invests NOK 50 million and doubles the production capacity at the Dovre dairy. Now the dairy giant will take up the fight against imported white mold cheese.

Today, the Norwegian grocery market imports over 90 percent of the cheese type.

It is Dovre’s dairy that produces all of Tine’s white mold cheese. The initiative also ensures jobs at the dairy.

– “We have a clear ambition for growth that will be profitable for Norwegian dairy farmers. I also think it is nice that this strengthens local workplaces,” says Tine CEO Gunnar Hovland in a press release.

In connection with the Dovre development, Tine’s white mold cheeses are redeployed to the brand “Dovre Ysteri”.

Last fall, it was announced that Tine will cut 400 of the company’s 4,300 full-time employees by the end of 2021. The cuts will save NOK 1 billion.
