Today, most income earners and pensioners receive the tax settlement. Almost three million Norwegians benefit from taxes.

Eight out of ten (2.9 million people) get money back, while two out of ten (800,000 people) have to pay arrears. The average payment is NOK 11,800.

The date of payment may be up to three weeks after the tax settlement date, but most will receive the money the same day or shortly after the tax settlement.

Those who do not receive the settlement before the fall are taxpayers who deliver the tax return on paper, self-employed or married to a business owner.

The average residual tax is NOK 25,900. Those who owe on their taxes need not pay the first installment until August 20.
