Two men were charged in Oslo District Court on Monday for cheating Nav into paying more than 2 million kroner in disability pension to one of them.

A 71-year-old man is accused of receiving a disability pension of 2.23 million kroner from 2005 to 2012.He was apparently working for a company in Oslo during the same period.

The other accused is a 56-year-old who is charged with conspiring with the 71-year-old so that the latter could work and get paid while he received the disability pension.

Both men have been indicted for serious fraud which resulted in losses to Nav.

Attorney General Johan Øverberg warned that none of the defendants will have the right to be the general manager and hold any other senior position or sit on the board of any company. Until 2011, the 56-year-old was the general manager and board member of a company. The 71-year-old is believed to have worked for the same company.
