Two out of three Norwegians want Ida Wolden Bache as the new governor instead of NATO Secretary-General Jens Stoltenberg.

At the same time, more than four out of ten, or 43%, of those surveyed say that they have relatively little or very little confidence in the government’s hiring process, according to a survey conducted by Kantar for TV 2.

One in four, or 25.7%, of those who have an opinion on the matter, say that they want Stoltenberg as central bank governor, while two out of three, or 66.8%, say that they want Bache.

As Stoltenberg was the party leader and prime minister of several people who will now handle his application, there has been a lot of media and accusations from political opponents about camaraderie in connection with the hiring process.
