We used cards for 51 billion in November
Based on the use of cards in this country, there is much to suggest that the Christmas shopping season is well underway. In November we used credit cards more than 150 million times.
November’s use of cards increased by 7.5 percent compared with November last year, according to new figures from BankAxept and Nets.
– Some days of heavy card usage suggests that many are well underway with Christmas shopping, says press officer Stein-Arne Tjore from Nets in Norway.
Total payment cards used for more than 51.8 billion kroner in November, an increase of 6.4 percent compared with the same month last year. The figures also show that there was a new record on the so-called Black Friday.
– Then, there were almost 8.1 million card purchases and sales with payment cards were in excess of 3.3 billion. Never before have cards been used as diligently as on this day, says Tjore.
