You can now see how full your train is both in the Vy app and on the station screens in Eastern Norway and Vossebanen. You can also see where the trains are through the app.

-”These are long-awaited functions for our commuters. We hope this will provide good customer experiences and better punctuality.”, Kristin Kjøge Jansson, the director of Digital Customer Services at Vy said at a press release.

You will find the new service “Where is the train?” under the favorite tab in the Vy app. When you tap on your favorite departure, you will see where the train is in real time on a map. The service is currently available in Eastern Norway. You can also see where Vy’s express busses are located on the map.

In addition, the app for Vy and the station screens for Bane Nor will show how full each train is when the train leaves the station you are leaving from. The function shows how much space there usually is in each train.  Based on how many people tend to travel with each departure.

-”Now during the Corona pandemic, it is extra important to know how full the train is. Maybe you can go in a different train with more space, or choose another trip?”, says Jansson.

In the app, train departures will be marked in green, yellow or red, depending on how full the trains are. Vy reserves the right that traffic deviations during events and public holidays may cause the app to display errors.
