Widerøe has the most flights in Europe

According to Eurocontrol, the airline Widerøe now has the most departures of all the commercial airlines in Europe. This is reported by NRK.

On April 2, the airline had 192 daily departures. Only the freight carrier DHL had multiple flights, according to an overview Eamonn Brennan of the European Aviation Safety Organization (Eurocontrol) has posted on his Twitter account.

Facing NRK, Communications Director Silje Brandvoll in Widerøe confirms the unusual figures.

– We maintain the necessary infrastructure in District Norway, especially on the tendering routes. In collaboration with the Ministry of Transport and Communications, we have agreed that we will continue to fly even though there is a lack of passengers, says Brandvoll.
