1.3 million passengers traveled with SAS in November, an increase of 300% from the previous year. SAS reports that it has increased its capacity by 143% from November 2020.
The cabin factor, which measures the capacity utilization of public transport services like airlines, amounted to 61% in November, up 36% from the same month in 2020 and up 1.6% from October.
According to the company, relief in the travel restrictions led to better ticket sales both internationally and domestically.
“We have seen a gradual increase in demand in recent months in line with easing travel restrictions. Demand and ticket sales have stabilized before the winter, which is generally a less active travel period,” SAS CEO Anko Van der Werff stated.
However, the new corona variant omicron creates uncertainty, and he added that the future is still uncertain.
