A man was taken to the emergency room after he was hit by a tree in Slottsparken in Oslo on Wednesday.

“The person is slightly injured. He is now being taken to the emergency room”, the task leader on site informs NTB.

“People are encouraged to avoid Slottsparken until the gusts of winds have calmed down”, the Royal House states on its website. Dronningparken is now closed for the rest of the day.

Operations Manager Sven Christian Lie in the Oslo police district tells NTB that they were notified of the incident at 14.37.

The tree fell right next to Gardevaktstuen, right at the front of the castle. Clean-up work is underway.
