Between 50 and 60 employees will lose their jobs when Bergen Engines cuts its workforce at the Hordvikneset factory.

The exact number has not yet been determined, writes E24.

According to communications manager Merethe Fjeldstad at Bergen Engines, the restructuring is part of several measures to make the Norwegian business profitable again.

In 2021, the previous owner of Bergen Engines – Rolls-Royce – wanted to sell the company to a Russian company, which attracted a lot of scrutiny in Norway.

The Norwegian government eventually stopped the sale for security reasons, and Bergen Engines was instead sold to British Langley Holdings.
