In March and May, Disney’s nature film company will film on Svalbard. The governor has given permission for 20 helicopter landings on various glaciers on Spitsbergen.
The Disney film will document the challenges that result from climate change, newspaper Svalbardposten writes.
According to PolarX, which assists Disneynature with its work, the project has a “massive potential” to reach the public.
The film company has received landing permits on Negribreen, Kvalbreen, and Kongsvegen to transport personnel.
The permit presupposes that animals and birds are not disturbed and that no lasting traces are left behind in nature.
