There was no large queue to cross the border at Svinesund on Saturday afternoon. Fewer people than expected took the trip to shop in Sweden on Saturday.

“Now it takes about an hour to cross the border,” section chief Wenche Fredriksen at Svinesund customs told newspaper Aftenposten on Saturday afternoon.

She says fewer people than expected made the shopping trip to Sweden.

“Many people probably understand that one should preferably not travel across the border now.”

Thomas Selbekk, who was in Strømstad on Saturday, says that there were few people out and about and that there were three or four customers at Systembolaget.

From Friday afternoon, fully vaccinated Norwegians with a valid corona certificate and valid entry documents to Norway can cross the border again without having to be quarantined. On Friday, there was a three-hour queue at the border at times.
