The police believe they have a good overview of the course of events in the abduction case in Tolga. Still, they don’t want to rule out the possibility of more people being arrested.

On Wednesday afternoon, the police arrested a fourth person in the Tolga abduction case. The accused man was arrested at 1:30 PM on Wednesday.

“We can not go into details about where and how the arrest took place,” police attorney Vibeke Stolp Ekeland at the Innlandet Police District said at a press conference on Wednesday.

If he agrees to it, the accused man in his 20s will be questioned on Thursday.

“There is a high probability that this person will also be produced for custody,” Ekeland said.

The accused man has not yet been appointed a lawyer.

Many clues in the case

Three men have already been arrested and remanded in custody in the abduction case. All four are men in their 20s who have previously been convicted. They are charged with deprivation of liberty or complicity in deprivation of liberty. Three live in Oslo, and one lives in Hamar.

“The investigation continues in full force. There is still a lot of information and many clues in the case, and we can not rule out that we will have more suspects in the case,” the police attorney added.

She said that the police believe they have a good overview of the course of events and roles that the various accused men had in the case.

20-year-old man abducted

The incident happened on the night of Sunday, January 2, in a house in Tolga north of Østerdalen. When the police arrived, a 20-year-old man was reported abducted, and his parents were taken to the emergency room.

On Sunday night, he appeared on a train at Gardermoen, where he asked the conductor to borrow a phone.

According to police, the 20-year-old was shot when he was abducted, but he was not seriously injured. One of the theories that the police are considering is that the case is related to debt.
