Hadia Tajik (AP) is expected to join the Energy and Environment Committee when she returns to the Norwegian parliament (Storting) after resigning as Minister of Labor and Integration.
I have spoken with Hadia, and she wants to be a regular parliamentary representative and regular member of a faction. It has been a tough period for her, so I understand that well. The nomination committee’s recommendation is that she join the Energy and Environment Committee, parliamentary leader of the Labor Party, Rigmor Aasrud, told NTB.
Tajik resigned in early March in the midst of the commuter housing scandal. A week later, she also resigned as deputy leader of the party.
Since March 11, she has been on sick leave. , Aasrud says Tajik will continue to be on sick leave for some time to come.
Tajik’s place on the Energy and Environment Committee should be officially confirmed on Wednesday afternoon at the party’s group meeting.
The group also has to decide who will take over as chair of the committee as the previous chair Terje Aasland has become the new Minister of Petroleum and Energy.
