The Kongsberg Group will provide the Armed Forces with missiles for Norwegian F-35 fighter jets. The contract is worth NOK 4 billion and is one of the largest arms acquisitions for the Armed Forces.

The agreement will be signed on Thursday.

“With this contract, we ensure a crucial capacity for our new fighter jets,” Minister of Defense Odd Roger Enoksen (SP) stated in a press release.

The first missiles will be delivered in 2023, with deliveries planned for several years to come.

The government knows that large material investments in the Armed Forces create jobs in Norway, Enoksen noted.

“Today’s missile contract shows that we have a competitive defense industry,” he said.
