A man in his 20s was arrested at Storhaug in Stavanger on Monday night. Earlier in the day, he allegedly carried a weapon in the city center and pointed it at people.
Around 5 PM, the police received several reports about the man. He was seen in the area by the courthouse with what looked like a weapon.
“The weapon was also pointed at passers-by,” the Southwestern Police District stated.
Several armed police patrols searched for the suspect, and he was arrested at 10:40 PM.
The arrest took place without drama, according to the police. The man was questioned at the police station in Stavanger.
