Due to Brexit, the development of defense and security policy in the EU and respect for the rule of law is on the agenda when Norway’s Minister of Foreign affairs visits Romania.
The reason for Monday’s visit to Bucharest is that Romania will take over the EU presidency on the 1st of January. Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ine Eriksen Søreide (H) will meet President Klaus Iohannis and their Foreign Affairs Minister, Teodor Melescanu.
Romania is the country that receives the second most EEA funding from Norway.
“Through EEA funds, Norway is a significant contributor to economic and social equalization in Romania,” says Eriksen Søreide.
