In a new study, only 17 of 46 self-tests are recommended for use. The best tests detected infection in 94% of cases, while the worst detected infection in 2.5% of cases.

“It’s a big surprise. The results should be reasonably uniform,” doctor Uffe Vest Schneider at Amager and Hvidovre Hospital told the newspaper Aftenposten.

Schneider led the Danish study that examined the corona self-tests. In the study, the researchers advise against using the 29 worst tests.

The researchers used laboratory tests and collected samples from 3,800 people, most of whom were infected with the alpha variant.
