In 2021, the Norwegian Post set a new record when it comes to the number of delivered parcels.

Turnover grew to NOK 24.7 billion, an increase of NOK 720 million compared with 2020.

“The pandemic and new shopping habits online have been a powerful engine behind growth in package (distribution).

“We delivered 66 million packages from online shopping, and we have demonstrated the importance of goods deliveries for a well-functioning society,” CEO of the Norwegian Post Tone Wille stated.

The growth of packages related to e-commerce delivered in 2021 amounted to 21%, and for the last two years, the growth in e-commerce-related packages amounted to 79%.

At the same time, Norwegians are sending fewer and fewer letters. Deliveries of addressed mail fell by 11.3%, and deliveries of unaddressed mail fell by 0.5% in 2021, compared to 2020.
