The Norwegian speed limits at sea are changing. It will not be allowed to drive faster than 5 knots if one is less than 50 meters from people who are swimming or mark buoys.
The new regulations on speed limits at sea will enter into force on May 15, the Ministry of Transport and Communications stated.
“It is important to remember that there are also speed limits at sea that must be complied with so that it is safe for everyone to travel at sea.
“I would encourage everyone to download Båtfart, which is an app developed by the Norwegian Coastal Administration, and which is a good tool for keeping track of which speed limits apply where,” Minister of Transport Knut Arild Hareide (KrF) said.
The new regulations also require drivers of all types of vessels to be careful and adapt their speed to the conditions at sea.
