An 18-year-old young man has been arrested after trying to cheat his way out of paying an almost NOK 100,000 bill at Norefjell ski & spa.

“A group of young people had been drinking, eating, taking massages, renting skis, and partying for several days without paying,” operations manager Marianne Mørch in the Southeast Police District told news bureau NTB.

When the bill was to be settled on Thursday morning, an 18-year-old man, who is the main suspect in the case, tried to trick the staff at the hotel into believing that he had paid. According to the operations manager, the man showed fake bank transfers to the staff.

The operations manager says that three or four people have been staying in an apartment at the hotel for a few days. In addition, there have been several people who have been to the apartment.

“They had accumulated a bill of up to NOK 100,000. As I understand it, the accused was allegedly supposed to treat everyone, but it is questionable whether he has the money,” Mørch said.

The man has now been arrested and taken into custody in Drammen.

“He will be questioned there. We will see if he acknowledges anything then,” Mørch concluded.
