A new subsidy scheme against racism, discrimination, and hate speech was launched on Monday. The scheme is worth NOK 8 million in 2021.

“Racism and discrimination are democratic challenges that prevent many people from participating, being heard, and using their resources in society on an equal footing with others,” Minister of Culture and Gender Equality Abid Q. Raja (V) said in a press release.

Voluntary organizations, religious and philosophical communities, and municipalities can apply for project grants.

The projects will contribute to increasing knowledge and competence in the population to prevent racism and discrimination and develop methods for promoting diversity and dialogue.

The subsidy scheme is administered by the Directorate for Children, Youth, and Families, and the application deadline is March 15.
