The Norwegian government is tightening rules related to quarantine hotels. It will introduce a system with stricter rules for foreign workers.
Today, the main rule is that everyone who does not have a suitable place to stay now has to go to quarantine hotels.
Foreign workers can carry out the quarantine in a suitable place provided by the employer.
However, inspections carried out by the Norwegian Labor Inspection Authority have shown that in many cases, the current rules are not followed, Minister of Justice Monica Mæland (H) said at a press conference on Wednesday.
“That is why we are now working to introduce a scheme where accommodation provided by the employer must be pre-approved before it can be used,” Mæland said.
