Foreign Minister Ine Eriksen Søreide (H) believes that a Turkish military operation against the Kurds in northern Syria could undermine the fight against IS.
In a Twitter message on Tuesday, the Foreign Minister expressed deep concern about a possible Turkish intervention in northeast Syria.
We respect Turkish security needs, but we are deeply concerned about possible unilateral military action in northeastern Syria, writes Søreide.
She adds that it can both undermine the fight against IS, aggravate the security situation and the humanitarian situation, as well as jeopardize safe, dignified and voluntary returns of refugees.
